December in Lagos means weddings, owambes, office parties and family visits — and our diary fills up fast. The trick to looking your best isn't one big appointment the day before; it's booking the right treatments at the right time, so your skin has settled and your nails and hair are fresh when it matters.
The short version: start any course treatments (like microneedling) now; have light peels at least 2 weeks before your event and stronger peels 4–6 weeks before; book hydrating facials or dermaplaning in the final week; do nails, brows and waxing in the last few days; and save the massage or Moroccan Hammam for the stressful week itself.
Now (10+ weeks out): start anything that takes a course
Microneedling (from ₦350,000 per session) works over a recommended course of 5–6 sessions spaced weeks apart — so the earlier you start, the more of the course you'll have completed by December. This is also the time to start regular facials every four to six weeks.
4–6 weeks out: treat texture and tone
If your skin needs more than a refresh, this is the window for a Chemical Peel (Enzyme Acid, ₦98,000) or the Anti-Aging Facial (Supreme 4D, ₦145,000). Stronger peels should be done 4–6 weeks before your event; light peels at least 2 weeks before. Some skin types flake for a few days after a peel, so ask your therapist which strength suits your skin.
The final week: glow
Book the Hydra Clinic Facial (₦85,000) for plumped, hydrated skin and, if you like a smooth make-up base, dermaplaning (₦38,000). Both are gentle, and most people go straight back to their day.
The last few days: nails, brows and hair
- Gelish manicure ₦32,000 / Gelish pedicure ₦45,000
- Eyebrow threading ₦9,500; waxing from ₦8,000 per area (Brazilian ₦30,000)
- Wash & blow-dry ₦25,000; keratin treatment ₦175,000 — book keratin a little earlier so it has time to settle
The week itself: de-stress
A Moroccan Hammam (2.5 hours, ₦120,000) or a deep tissue massage (₦60,000, 1 hour) is the reset most people need in the middle of December. Going with your partner? See our couples spa options.
